Sprint 1 Week 2: The Beaver's Dam

Hi it's Shiyu again! And it's the 2nd week of Sprint 1. (at the time of drawing this)

For this piece, I used this picture as my reference image.

I first worked on the trees, I planned for the light source to come from the middle of the composition.

Then I shaped out how I wanted the river to look like, and added the light source (sun) in the middle behind the trees.

Next I chose my shade of green and painted the base layer of flat grass. And added where reflection of the sunlight and trees would be.

Then comes the main point of the picture: the Beaver's Dam

After this, it was time to do add some details. Some layers of grass and small yellow flowers:

And voilà we are done!
